#11 Treasure in the weeds
#12 Pots on Totara tree
#13 Lemons to come
This is a Meyer Lemon tree with lemons to come.
You cant grow a lemon tree in a place that is in a country with continual cold weather. We cant get cherries because Auckland is not cold enough.
The type of fruit you grow is dependant on the climate conditions.
We have a warm climate but we don't get tropical fruit either.
#14 Looking down from the porch
Pots and plants. I have been visited by bees very interested in the new flowers I planted.
You need to be careful gardening. First watch your self carrying heavy potting mix. Do with care. Second, potting mix is something you should wear gloves using and never breath the fumes in from potting mix soil. People have gone to hospital from breathing in the fumes from potting mix.
Thirdly, you could develop a rash from plants. I always use detol an antiseptic and wash myself with that afterwards with that and warm water. Works for me.
#15 3 indoor seedlings
#16 Banana Tree
I planted this Banana tree over the fence. I have never had successful bananas to eat from it, but may do this year, who knows. New Zealand isn't really hot enough. Some are very successful at doing this.
I think you need plastic bags here to ripen bananas. I have had bananas but not edible ones. Yet..
Yes, I have more work to do on the garden, I don't think it ever ends but its interesting work.
#17 Monarch Butterfly hatched on a paintbrush
#18 Young Blackbird eating left over cat food
With gardens always put out water in summer for the bird life. You don't need so much poison to kill bugs like slugs and snails if you make birds your friend. Birds are good for gardens.
However, you need to tell them they have to share the fruit by putting bird netting over strawberries and fruit.
Very cozy and beautiful garden, sure that it’s great being here!!!
Thanks so much I did not show you all the work I have to do and the weeds I have yet to deal with.
And the result is really excellent!!!
A lovely garden … I can not wait in the spring to arrange my garden
You have a beautiful garden … we have winter so that my garden still rests
Thanks so much, Vidocka, the garden is a lot of work but well worth it.
You are almost ready. It is winter here so it will be a few months for me.
Yes, there is no snow and no excuse for me because we have a garden all year round except that there are different plants for each season, some plants grow all year round.
The garden looks lovely, and it looks like you’re coming along well with it. It’s lots of hard work, but it will be worth it in the end!
Thanks so much Coffee Queen, yes it is a lot of hard work
