Garden Project Part One

A few flowers inside wondering dew weed. That is another project to come. 

Yet another project, upgrade these current pots, for the most you see a totara tree and spider plant the spider plant is easy to grow and native to New Zealand where I live. So is the totara tree.

This is a Meyer Lemon tree with lemons to come.

You cant grow a lemon tree in a place that is in a country with continual cold weather. We cant get cherries because Auckland is not cold enough.

The type of fruit you grow is dependant on the climate conditions.

We have a warm climate but we don't get tropical fruit either. 

Pots and plants. I have been visited by bees very interested in the new flowers I planted. 

You need to be careful gardening. First watch your self carrying heavy potting mix. Do with care. Second, potting mix is something you should wear gloves using and never breath the fumes in from potting mix soil. People have gone to hospital from breathing in the fumes from potting mix. 

Thirdly, you could develop a rash from plants. I always use detol an antiseptic and wash myself with that afterwards with that and warm water. Works for me.

My neighbour one of them gave me pacific island capsicum plants to grow, they have fruit and healing properties.

I grow inside a window sill and have a sponge cloth underneath. They are doing well. 

I planted this Banana tree over the fence. I have never had successful bananas to eat from it, but may do this year, who knows. New Zealand isn't really hot enough. Some are very successful at doing this. 

I think you need plastic bags here to ripen bananas. I have had bananas but not edible ones. Yet..

Yes, I have more work to do on the garden, I don't think it ever ends but its interesting work.

I raise from monarch caterpillars and release them into the garden.

With gardens always put out water in summer for the bird life. You don't need so much poison to kill bugs like slugs and snails if you make birds your friend. Birds are good for gardens.

However, you need to tell them they have to share the fruit by putting bird netting over strawberries and fruit.
