I woke up early to feed Gumby and take out the trash. After eating breakfast, I got ready for another day at the Spring Garden Show event to check out seminars. When I arrived there, I noticed some of the 10 outdoor living space models had ribbons but not all. There were 3 blue ribbons, 1 red ribbon, and 1 green ribbon. Actually, they all probably received a green ribbon, but the green one had “participant” on it. The blue ribbon was for first place and the red ribbon was for second place. I didn’t see any 3rd place ribbons on any of them.
They will probably have all the ribbons on them by the last day of the event. I took some snapshot, ate my sandwich, and decided to go to the 11 am seminar, which was about create modern water sculptures, architectural water features, and interesting artistic installation in outdoor landscapes. It looked like an outdoor modern art museum, with artistic looking fountains, ponds, and décor in yards. At 12:30 pm, I checked out a seminar about culinary herbs, which is about growing your own herbs and spices. I have always wanted to do that, and I tried a couple of times, but I just don’t have a green thumb.
But it was interesting to check out these herbs and plants. I went into the Macy’s cooking school to nibble on samples, which includes a small Caprese Sandwich, green tea, and two small cookies with jam. I felt like Holly Golightly in Breakfast in Tiffany’s, but I was dressed in pleather pants, pleather moto jacket, lacy camisole, butterfly necklace, silver choker, blue cotton scarf, and black flat Jeffrey Campbell oxfords with herringbone accent. At 3 pm, two Italian male chefs demonstrated 3 Italian recipes. I ate the vegetarian part of the recipe samples. For the first one, I picked out the shrimp and saved it for Gumby.
I plan to make them later and veganize them. At 5 pm, the Drought Tolerant seminar was also interesting because it is about conserving water by utilizing plants that don’t need much water as well as creating beneficial wildlife habitats by working with the native wildlife, not against them. The last seminar that I decided to attend is the Japanese Art of Bonsai at 6 pm, which looked fun and artistic. It is like sculpting your own mini artistic tree as well as creating a mini landscape. At 7 pm, I walked out of the mall, and I noticed it is cool and cloudy outside. It looks like it will rain. I arrive home and gave Gumby the shrimp I saved for him, but he wasn’t interested. He wanted his usual dry food. Maybe he will eat it later. He usually likes these meat treats I end up with while I am out somewhere.
I will later write a detailed post of each seminar for fun.
