Have you ever tried to photograph a borage flower? I believe borage flowers are bashful. They like to keep their heads down and not look directly at the photographer. To capture the face of a borage flower the photographer almost needs to be an acrobat.
First, the borage plants aren’t very tall and the flower stems are short. To look the flower in the face, the camera has to be aimed up. Aiming the camera up from a height of four to six inches is quite a trick if you have arthritic knees and find it hard to get up from the ground if you can even get down on it.
Since the borage flowers won’t look me in the eye, I will punish them. I will pick them, rinse them, and throw them in my salad. Then I can put their heads up before I devour them.
Well done! Nice macro!
Thank you. It was a challenge to get that photo.
Sometimes a photo shoot is a real workout.
I wrote this with tongue firmly in cheek after my frustrating attempt to get a good photo of the flower’s face. This year the plant is thriving and a bit taller and I may make another attempt to get the flower’s face.
Nice post!Beautiful!
I tend to find beauty in the simple things in life, like this simple flower.
Never seen one!!!!!!
They are easy to grow and should grow in spring once your weather warms up.
Never seen one. The leaves remind me of lamb’s wool.
Duh…. Lamb’s ear. Sorry, long day. 🙂
It’s not as fuzzy. It more closely resembles the leaves of clary sage.
Thanks. Sometimes photos need a bit of a story to go with them.
Yes, I have…. tried anyway.. I was wondering how to get a good angle.. This is so pretty.
Thank you. I’m glad I’m not the only one to experience this. Maybe you should start a “Get a borage flower face” challenge, LOL!
Surely there will be a nice salad taste
Actually they don’t have much taste. Most of the taste is in the leaves, but they are fuzzy. The flowers mostly add beauty. Maybe I’ll pick some for my lunch salad.
