Some people have been putting on their meals on Virily from all over the world.
Well, this is tonights meal and it will last for several days. Its simply ham bone soup.
Got the ham bone with lots of meat on from Pak’n’Sav from up the road for $5.00 which is very cheap. Its full of garden vegetables from my own garden. Plus lots of garlic as well. Not a ton but enough.
We have that with toast or bread.
Dont eat it every night but it will do
The traditional New Zealand meal is a leg of lamb roasted with potatoes, kumara, and pumpkin and minted peas.Served with gravy and mint sauce. We made our own mint sauce from mint in the garden. Chopped up with some sugar and vinegar and boiling water.
Today, few people can afford a leg of lamb which costs $50.00 NZ. Sometimes you can buy a cheaper lamb roast but you have to shop around.
I used to work a very long time ago for Hellabys meat company. I will tell you for sure, if you are lucky enough to buy NZ lamb its better than what most NZ people will get in the shop. The best goes overseas.
Thanks so much Tasartcraft. Its very simple and tasty.
Sounds good. I like using my crock pot especially when it is hot outside.
