Homeland of the tomato is Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru.
It was brought to Europe at the time of the 15th Century Great geographical discoveries.
Can be grown in winter, but in greenhouses.
Of course, greenhouse tomatoes do not have the taste of garden!
And the greenhouse varieties look like they were taken out of a mold…
Not that I’m boasting, but I’m involved in the production of these tomatoes too 🙂
They are not pretty, but they are delicious!
