La Jennas Food challenge – Dinner in Onehunga

This is just a stir fry with rice.

Stir fries are cooked with sesame oil, it has a delicious flavour and you don’t need much just enough to smear over the bottom of the pan.

My stir fries are made with contrasting colours, reds, oranges and vivid greens. Also neutral colours and often corn.

I use either soy sauce or tamari sauce.

The rice is cooked with a 1-2 inches of water just above the rice. Add a whole lemon cut in half, makes delicious rice. If you don’t have a lemon just add a small drop of cider vinegar

I often use garden herbs in my stir fries or garden vegetables, bok choy, coriander, tai sage, lime leaves, not much herbs as a little goes a long way and often fresh thyme or fresh basil. I use freshly chopped ginger and garlic too, a little.

    • Thanks Carol, it is easy for me most of the time because lemons grow on a tree, but they are not here all year round. I use cider vinegar if there is no lemon, because cider vinegar is said to have healing properties.

  1. This looks fantastic. All colors, fragrances, and flavors are together, in one place. Onion, garlic, leek, parsley root, and carrots, tomato, red pepper, and beef meat. I sprinkled with salt, pepper, laurel, and rosemary. It was very tasty.
