What I really want to do here is post as much for my own reference as for any, what ingredients I put in my Go To Kombucha.
6 oz kombucha (which I make with 2/3 green tea and 1/2 black)
6 oz guava tea (cold pressed ie a bag left overnight in fridge in a glass of water)
A huge glass of ice
1 to 2 TBS Cherry Torani syrup (or coconut or blood orange or any other flavor/s)
If I have sweet oranges on my tree their juice substitutes for some or all of the syrup depending on how long the booch has been fermenting. My oranges are still green at present so I am glad to use the Torani, which contains real sugar, not corn syrup (bleagh). Torani has about 12 grams of sugar in one tablespoon which is 1/2 ounce of syrup. The pictured glass holds my beverage plus 2 cups of ice, and so the drink pictured is about 45 calories.
I have not heard of this drink yet-as I see it must be very tasty
Very tasty indeed, lado and healthy too. This morning I made peach flavored kombucha for breakfast.
I’ll prepare him if I succeed, I do not know if I get Guava tea
I ordered my Guava tea on Amazon.
Thanks for the information
My aunt has made kombucha for many years and she swears by it. The combination with orange juice sounds really good!
I didn’t think I would like it but it was love at first sip. Tonight I am having strawberry guava flavor with cinnamon.
I still haven’t tried it, but it’s great that you can combine it with so many things and have a different flavor every time. 🙂
Yes, I think most people grow to like it gradually, starting out sweeter with less kombucha in the glass and more fruit flavor, and then cutting back once they get used to the taste and the energy..
It’s a great way to get used to it for sure. 🙂
This is the first time I heard about kombucha. I am now curious! It must be very refreshing, right?
Yes Albert it is the most refreshing beverage I know, right up there with Aqua Frescas. Do you know Aqua Fresca called Tepate? That is fermented pineapple leavings. That one is very good mixed with the kombucha and coconut syrup. Pina colada flavored!
Aww… I need to learn about so many beverages from you, Ann. No, I know nothing about tepate too…
That is because I spelled it wrong. It is tepache. Just wash a fresh pinapple, save the fruit for something else and put the rind and core in water with a few dried cloves and 1/4 cup of brown sugar, cover loosely with a cloth at room temp until it gets white bubbly foam on top (a few days) then strain, chill and drink.
It’s not your fault, Ann, I really do not know, but I saved the recipe for me to try to make immediately. thanks.
Not familiar but it sounds easy enough to make. Cheers!
Yes the SCOBY is sort of like mother of vinegar except prettier and tastier, and you just feed it sweet tea and it ferments all by itself. The rest is added flavor.
They sell it bottled in health food stores (and Aldi’s) but I like my own better, plus it is very inexpensive to make.
I have never heard of it before, but sounds like it would be something I would drink.
Sounds and look really nice!!
Thank for sharing this!!
I think I will go pour myself a nice glass of it right now.
Do you do delivery XD
International delivery I mean XD
rflol, alibb, unfortunately I cannot attach it to an email.
I was a big skeptic until I started drinking my own and it is amazing. I never would have believed it!
Better immune function, reduced sugar craving, more energy, usually feel good but always feel better while drinking the kombucha.
Excellent and delicious, thanks.Kombucha is healthy.
It seems to boost the immune system because nothing gets me down since I have been making it and enjoying it daily. Plus although it may be an acquired taste, I just love it, Branka.
Truly, you are the queen of DIY
…and my kombucha is the queen of beverages!
nothing less for her majesty!
I could get used to this, you know…
*bows with a flourish*
Thanks for this nice post.. 🙂
I appreciate your comment hamza.
You’re Welcome Ann Hartley.
