There is a Thai dish that I love. I have always called it Nam Sut, although I suspect that is not the correct name. It is ground pork cooked with ginger and then served as easy grab food in a lettuce wrap.
It is one of my favorite ideas although I don’t know the correct name.
Recently I decided to make it but I wanted to reduce the fat and calories, so I decided to try it with ground chicken instead of ground pork.
What you’ll need
- Ground chicken
- Fresh ginger
- Fresh garlic
- Onions
- Peanuts
Cut all the ingredients up and cook them In a frying pan with the chicken.
When the chicken is cooked, add lemon juice to the mix (just enough to get everything lemony), and away you go!
Portions I used:
- 2 pounds ground chicken
- 4 ounces fresh ginger
- five cloves fresh garlic
- 1 onion
- two tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
We used a head of Iceberg lettuce to make the actual wraps. Let the mixture cool just a little (don’t want to burn your tongue) and serve.
This recipe easily fed 4 including two teenagers!
I have been wondering the name of this dish like forever now. Thank you, I have used ground beef but no chicken and this is the recipe I use. Now I will have to try it with chicken, I love this!!!
I have to be honest, I was scared using chicken. We usually make this with pork sausage, but frankly the Ground Chicken tasted amazing.
I am not sure that is the proper thai name, that is just what I have always called it.
I love this dish as well. My cousin prepares it every now and then using the original recipe of beef. Great to see you trying all stuff. Lol!
I am more than a geek. Not much more, but a little more than a geek.
It looks delicious! Thank you for sharing the recipe.
I am trying to expand my creative contributions!
