Day 3 of Spring Garden Show 2018: Smoothies, Soups, and Cocktails

Saturday, 4.28.18

At 4 pm, I went to the William Sonoma store to check out a seminar on Vitamix blender and making smoothies, margaritas, and soups. I added an old photograph of one of my smoothies. I am not sure which one it is, but it might be the coffee and ice cream one. I have done so much combinations that I am not sure which one is which.

  1. The first demo was for a smoothie. Combine grape juice, plain yogurt, and chopped fruit pieces in a blender. Since frozen fruit was used, the sample was like an icy dessert, which is perfect for summer outdoor parties, served in cocktail glasses. If you want to veganize it, consider using avocado or vegan ice cream instead of yogurt.
  2. The second demo is soup. Precook chopped onions, garlic, and tomatoes. Add 1 cup of vegetable broth. Add a can of tomato puree. Add some basil leaves. Blend together inside a blender. The sample was tasty, creamy, and hot, perfect for cold winter days or rainy weather, enjoyed in your favorite mug.
  3. The third demo is margarita. It consisted of margarita mix, grapefruit juice or Tequila, and ice. The sample was virgin because it was at the local mall. It tasted like an icy drink. But add Tequila or other liquor drink, and enjoy a nightcap, especially during cold months.
