Stocking food is absolutely mandatory for the coronavirus crisis. Earlier today, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced that all bars and dine-in restaurants will be closed by the end of Monday until March 30th due to the coronavirus, which is also called Covid-19.
The reason for this statewide mandate is due to idiocy of people that live in Chicago. On Saturday, people celebrated St. Patrick’s Day despite state officials calling for these parties to be cancelled. Since people never want to listen, this law to have these bars and restaurants closed will be enacted so that people will not go out to party on St. Patrick’s Day this upcoming Tuesday.
I am ready for whatever will happen, but this mandate shows that many people in this state and in this country will be unprepared for how much the USA will be impacted by the coronavirus.
Yes the same here in some Canadian cities like Ottawa Gatineau. Schools and universities are closed till the end of March probably, elective surgeries are cancelled, government employees and some others are told to stay at home and work from there if they can, daycares are closed. Ottawa looks almost like a ghost town after the pandemonium of last week groceries over abundance and depletion shopping… The Canadians borders are now closed to international flights and travelers except for the US. The whole planet is being affected by this terrible virus….
I know that Canada has taken the correct precautions after Trudeau’s wife contracted the coronavirus. The USA did not start taking precautions until the NBA players contracted Covid-19. I didn’t know that you lived in Ottawa. Go Senators when the NHL comes back.
Wow, you know Ottawa. I used to live in Ottawa but now I reside just on the other side of it over the Ottawa River in Gatineau. So you like the Ottawa Senators it seems. I am sorry but I am not a hockey fan at all. My sister is an avid Canadians fans… Alors au revoir and thanks a lot for your up votes on my posts… BTW I am French and English Canadian…
I am happy that some of the road races I have interest in doing in the spring are being pushed back. It is usually cold as shit which prompts me not to do any of them.Report

The press conference was hilarious because Mayor Lightfoot said that since the people didn’t listen and partied all over Wrigleyville on Saturday, she was shutting it down for sure for St. Patrick’s Day.
Easy for someone that doesn’t go out to Wrigleyville or live in that lifestyle. When things resume back to the way they were, OMG, it will be wild
Lots more is happening here in India. Even schools and colleges are closed.
It seems like there are more precautions everywhere else instead of in the USA. I know the reason why.

I don’t think that it’s severe. Have you seen what is happening in Italy? Over 300 people died overnight in Italy – https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-16/coronavirus-update-covid-19-death-toll-jumps-italy/12058332 – Cases in Illinois have spread throughout the entire state in just one week. It started with 1 or two in the Chicago area. Now, there are cases in southern Illinois just because one person that had the coronavirus took a train from Chicago to St. Louis
