5 Slimming Foods to Get Yourself Ready for That Summer Beach Bod

Summer is rapidly approaching, and we all know what that season’s for—showing off your slim and trim physique at the beach, where things can get hot and heavy! Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with Instagram-worthy beach bodies all year round, so we’ll definitely have to do some pre-summer preparations to get shape just in time. This of course usually involves working out hard every day, getting enough sleep and hydration, and most importantly, adding healthier and slimming foods to our diet.

While it’s easy enough to do the first two, it’s a bit more challenging to successfully carry out the latter. After all, there’s a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to dieting, not to mention the hundreds of fad diets out there that might not work for you, or even make you gain some added flab if you’re not careful.

To help you with this, we’ve looked for every slimming food that’s been verified many times over to actually have slimming qualities and listed them below. As a bonus, all these foods are also known for being very nutrient and vitamin-rich, making them wonderful in keeping you healthy as well as fit.

Brown Rice

Do you prefer getting your carbs mostly from rice? If so, then we’ve got the perfect thing to add to your diet—brown rice! Brown rice is essentially the same as white rice, except that it still retains its most nutritious and healthy parts, such as the fibrous bran and the nutrient germ. This makes it that much healthier and nutritious than white rice, which only contains the endosperm—the white, polished grain that is essentially all carbs and no fat. By switching out white rice for brown rice, you not only get the carbs you need for the day, but you’ll also be getting a great boost in your nutrient and fiber intake, which helps in both your overall well-being and digestive process.

With that said, brown rice has a very different taste and texture than white rice, so you may find it a bit difficult to get used to the switch at first. If you’re finding it tough, then you can try alternative forms of brown rice instead, such as brown rice milk. This is just like those nut milks that you see in healthy food option stores, except that they use brown rice instead of nuts. It’s just as creamy and tasty as milk, but it’s healthier and definitely not as fattening.

Cinnamon

Do you have some cinnamon powder handy in your house? Then take it and start adding it to your coffee, your cereal, or anything mildly sweet that you’re snacking on right now. Cinnamon is proven by many studies to have a lot of slimming benefits, with one of them being its ability to reduce insulin resistance in your body. This essentially tells your body to stop storing any sugar you take in as fat, and instead let it pass through your body via your bowel movements. Very effective as a slimming solution indeed—just don’t use it an excuse to binge on cinnamon rolls, or you’ll just be going back to square one!

Green Tea

Add a cup or two of green tea to your daily diet and you’ll definitely have those excess pounds melt right off of you. Many studies have confirmed that those who regularly drink green tea not only found that they’re in much better control of their snacking and bingeing impulses, but they also burn a significantly higher amount of calories during their daily workouts. This is thanks to green tea’s high antioxidant content, which encourages the release of energy from stored fat cells and also shifts your liver on overdrive in using that fat for energy. With that said, try and consume green tea with as little sweetener as possible to enjoy its maximum effect.

Grapefruit

If you like snacking on fruits rather than candy, then consider trying out grapefruits. Half a grapefruit before every meal can help reduce your waistline by a whole inch in just six weeks! This wonderful slimming effect comes from the grapefruit’s abundance in phytochemicals, which are known to have a burning effect on fat. What’s more, studies have also shown that the mere scent of grapefruit alone can activate certain cells in your fat deposits, making them burn your fat for energy while also suppressing your appetite.

Apple Cider Vinegar

We’ll finish off this list by recommending one of nature’s greatest and well-known slimming agents, apple cider vinegar! This tasty condiment is comprised mostly of acetic acid, which is known to slow down your digestive system and as such regulate the release of sugar into your bloodstream. This helps you feel fuller for longer while also aiding your digestion. Many studies have been done on ACV and has proven that this does in fact work to help reduce body fat. The daily consumption of ACV also produces proteins inside your body that burn fat even when you’re not exercising.

With that said, ACV by itself can be hard to consume, since it’s got a very strong taste and smell. We recommend diluting a tablespoon of it in a full glass of water to help ease it down.

With these slimming foods, your dream summer beach bod is within reach

Getting ready for the summer doesn’t have to be an ordeal of torture and pain. Simply eat healthy, exercise as much as you can, and increase your water intake. Getting adequate sleep helps, too. But if you really need a helping hand, then add the five foods we’ve listed above into your daily diet. You’ll swear it was magic with how fast and effective the results will turn out!

  1. Thank you. I think I’m on ‘Keto’ diet eating. I avoid high-carbs and all kinds of cooking oils. These oils are hazardous to the health for they are nutrient deficient and are full of free-radicals. Lots of walking, exercises and sun boost the whole being to health.

  2. Although I am almost 55 years old, I care about my weight. I use high-fiber foods, I eat fresh fruits, and vegetables. Each of us, and especially those who are slightly older, should use this kind of food.
