Where’s My Car?

                                                  HUMOUR

So, I seriously screwed up Y’all, I admit it. I’d like to say it’s not my fault, and if I were 6 years old I would. Say that it’s not my fault that is. But, unfortunately (or not?), I am, in the words of Muddy Waters – A MAN. And some of you know the song by another Artist who sings “way past 21”, which would also apply to me. Yeah, I have no excuse but ignorance, which is always lame, no matter the circumstance. But anyway, for those of you who “read me” or “follow me” or “like me” or whatever it is the young folks are doing – you already know that my beloved car of 10 years died. It was a beautiful original edition Chevy “HHR” in “Burgundy” and I LOVED It. And it served me well through 10 years of Road Warrior service and over 120,000 miles. But its “heart” a.k.a. TRANSMISSION died on me on an out of town trip. And Y’all regulars know about all of that. But anyway, I was forced to buy another one (car that is) and I did.

The 2014 Chevy Cruz! YEAH! Or not, depending upon your own life circumstance. At the time, I was not pleased, but the vehicle had low miles, factory warranty, and decent price. All good right?

WRONG!

DUDE, WHERE’S MY CAR?

I didn’t even think about it at the time, but I bought a “silver car”. And, if you know anything about the American Car Market, then you already know that SILVER is one of the MOST POPULAR CAR COLORS. And, to make matters worse, the Chevy Cruz is a “sedan”….meaning that it looks damn near identical to EVERY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD!?!?!

ARGH!!!

Y’all, not only have I lost my car when it was right in front of my face, I have tried to use my keys on other people’s cars! I have tried to open other people’s car doors! Look Y’all, I one time (in the parking lot of a 7-11) GOT INTO THE DRIVER SEAT OF ANOTHER MAN’S CAR! And as soon as I sat down, I was like “WHAT THE $%^&*$%^&, WHAT HAPPENED HERE?“. Then, it suddenly dawned on me – “Dude, you’re in the wrong car!“. As I exited the vehicle, the actual owner was walking up. I said – “I’m really sorry, I just bought my own silver car, which is parked next to yours, and I wasn’t looking“. Do you know what his response to me was? – “That’s OK, it happens to me all the time“. WHAT?!?!

I miss my old car. It was “RED” to me. Exciting to some. Oh well, “Regret”…I’ve written about it before. You should see. And subscribe, and like and all of that stuff. It’s free as long as you are right? I’ll see you tomorrow

  1. Had a similar experience when I went to buy beer recently – the guy was very happy to take my beer but didn’t want me to drive away in his car! 🙂 I intend to buy a very bright yellow car next!

  2. hahahahahahaha – You remind me of, at the moment over 20 years old, stories and happenings with our first car – some Renault. Maybe I should write it down too.
However, I know the feeling! 😀 – And it’s not funny at all when it’s happening, but afterward you can’t stop laughing whenever you think about all this situation.
In short, these are those kinds of stories we would probably tell our grandchildren and they would think we are just some old crazy folks who lost their mind, as something like that wouldn’t be possible in their time. 🙂
