When Calls the Heart on Netflix

Hallmark can make some really good shows to watch. One of them is When Calls the Heart. It is about community and romance too. It is a very good show to check out, even if you do not have Netflix.

Elizabeth Thatcher comes to be the new teacher in Coal Valley. Later it is changed to Hope Valley. The stagecoach she is riding in gets robbed so she has to walk to the town. She has other things happen so one of the ladies takes her in. Two things that happened were that the church burned down and men and boys died in the coal mine. Well, anyways this Mounty named Jack Thorton comes to the town. He was suppose to go somewhere else but it turns out Elizabeth’s father makes sure he ends up where she is to babysit her and he instead goes to Coal Valley. He is not happy so he blames her and they get off on the wrong foot. They eventually fall in love and later in another season get married and then Jack is sent to do something somewhere else, but, he does not make it back and Elizabeth is devastated. She gives birth to a boy and names him Jack, after his father.

Along the way, new people come to the town after it is changed to Hope Valley. New romances happen and it looks like there are two that want to romance Elizabeth and one is the new Mounty named Nathan replacing Jack.

I believe it is worth checking into if not watching. I highly recommend it for those that like romance.

I take it there are not subtitles for you to look at. I am sorry. I absolutely love it. That is hard if you cannot watch something and understand it. I know. There are programs in French and Spanish and I tend to like the ones in Spanish and we have subtitles so can follow those.

  1. This sounds interesting. Yes I agree, Hallmark do make some good shows. Although we don’t have the Hallmark Channel here in the UK, we do get films which are shown on one of our channels quite often. I’ve quite enjoyed quite a lot of the films I’ve seen.
