Winter season brings to us more of frozen water bodies than free flowing ones. Ski slopes and white mountains are more common images than the free flowing river and water bodies. Even the Niagara falls freeze during these months. And this is what I miss most during the months of November to March each year- paucity of free flowing majestic water falls.
Within the waterfalls I love the long variety. By long I mean that they fall from an unusual height. I am always on the lookout for such waterfalls and snap them or film them as and when I do get an opportunity. I dig here for two factors of uniqueness that is; they must make sufficient noise with a thick breadth of the fall , and two that they are rather virgin or unknown to global tourists.
Arunachal Pradesh in India is an entirely hilly state and it has many gorgeous waterfalls fitting the above description. Here is a filming of one such waterfall:
This one looks breathtaking. There is something sort of magical about the sound of waterfalls.
