Tuvia Finds His Freedom – Cute Kids book

A friend of mine wrote this book about Tuvia, a turtle. My son loves Turtles so I had to get it for him. The book tells the true story about a turtle. The main challenge is to find out how the turtle got into the city, and how to put him back into the wild. The photographs are very beautiful and show the turtle in all its glory!

The story

This book will appeal to kids and their parents. It deals with the questions of what to do with a wild animal.  Where should it really live? It having a wild animal as a pet good for it?  Should it live in the wild? Who do you call to help take care of a wild animal?

What would you have done in this situation?

The book was written in English and you can also get it in Hebrew!

  1. Very interesting. We call turtles ‘tortoises’ in South Africa. We have quite a few in our garden, and always feed them lettuce and nettles, but they are free to leave if they wish to do so. Each has its own personality, with some being far more audacious than others. One becomes quite attached to them, with each having its own name, like Skopgraf (Shovel) and Ouma (grandmother).

    • Hi Lois

I lived in SA for many years.

Many confuse tortoises and turtles. Some also believe that the name turtle is generic for both tortoises and turtles.

Actually there are a few differences between tortoises and turtles. If you read our book, there is information within the book and also a section in the back that explains the differences and why it is important to know about these differences.
      Enjoy your tortoises.

If you read our book, I do hope you will enjoy it.
