With my own tulips from the garden I once had in the photo I thought this would make you smile at a time when smiles mean so much.
It had to be the strange voice of Tiny Tim and his song “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”. After all, spring is in full bloom and many have been struck by spring fever. In fact, the song planted a huge smile on my face so I thought I would pass the smile on.
“Tiptoe Through the Tulips” was published as long ago as 1929. It became a novelty hit in 1968 when a singer calling himself Tiny Time sang the song with a falsetto and ukulele. His real name was Hebert Khaury and he was born in New York City. The singer died at the age of 64 from a heart attack. If anyone remembers he also made a sensation marrying a woman 20-year younger named Miss Vicki and together they had a daughter named Tulip.
