The Music of Nazareth

Founded in 1968 Nazareth is a hard rock band from Scotland. They had several hits in the 1970s in the U.S. They got international awareness in 1975 when their album Hair of the Dog came out. From the album came the popular hit single “Love Hurts”. The band continues to tour and record.

Nazareth came together in 1968 in Dunfermline, Scotland. Their name comes from the town of Nazareth, Pennsylvania in the U.S. This town was mentioned in their classic song “The Weight”. In 1970 they moved to London, England. They released their debut album in 1971 and their second album Exercises in 1972.

These were followed by hits such as “Bad Bad Boy” and “Broken Down Angel.” In 1973 their album Loud n’ Proud had the hit single “This Flight Tonight”. Their latest album was released in 2018 Tattooed On My Brain.
