Come with me and step back in time as we look at the music that had everyone enjoying, listening, and dancing to in 1962.
More number one R&B hits from Motown by Mary Wells and the Contours who was singing “Bye Bye Baby” at the Apollo Theater in New York City.
Country music blends well with soul and some pop added in Ray Charles’ album Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music. One of the songs being the heartrending “I Can’t Stop Loving You”.
Surf rock comes into its own with the Beach Boys hit song “Surfin’ Safari”
Toward the end of the year, the Four Seasons come out with three consecutive number one hits one of them being “Sherry”.
Halloween was a big thing this year because the song “The Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett was on the charts. The song has stayed a part of all the Halloweens in all the years to come.
