1955 – At one time Elvis had appeared on the radio version of Louisiana Hayride and was there making his TV debut when they show went on the air and made this show popular again.

1959 – Bobby Darin has a hit with “Dream Lover”.

1960 – Sergeant Elvis Presley gets officially discharged from the U.S. Army.

1963 – The Beatles record “From Me To You” and the song goes to the top of the U.K. charts. It becomes the last song credited to McCartney/Lennon.

1968 – Simon Says” by The 1910 Fruitgum Company enjoys the popularity of having sold a million copies.

1983 – Topping the charts is “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson.

2000 – Madonna makes the top of the U.K. singles chart with her version of the Don McLean hit “American Pie”.
