1963 – Singer Del Shannon records a cover version of The Beatles’ “From Me to You”. It becomes the first song that was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney to appear on the American charts.

1964 – The Beatles recorded two songs in German “She Loves You” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand”.

1968 – Donovan comes out with the song “Hurdy Gurdy Man”.

1974- Canadian Gordon Lightfoot has a number one hit in the U.S. with his single “Sundown”.
