1955 – Was a big year for Bill Haley and the Comets who sold over 3 million records in thirteen months  Their songs “Rock Around the Clock” and “Shake Rattle and Roll” sold a million copies and “Dim, Dim the Lights” and “Mambo Rock” sold around 500,000.

1961 – Gary U.S. Bonds had their one and only number-one single with “Quarter to Three”.

1971 – Don McLean’s number one single “American Pie” made its radio debut.

1977 – Elvis give his last concert at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana. The last song he performed publicly was “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
