Rock and Roll June 18

1963 – Can it be that at one time he was so young? Do you remember being 21? On this day in this year, Paul McCartney celebrated his 21st birthday at the home of his Aunt Ginny. He refers to her as Aunty Gin in the song “Let ‘Em In”.

1966 – The Rolling Stones lost their number one position with “Paint It Black” to Old Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra’s “Strangers in the Night”. You know this song at one time was played so often I started hearing him sing in my ears at night.

1977 – Fleetwood Mac scored their only number one hit of the Billboard charts with “Dreams”.

2015 – Cyndi Lauper, Toby Keith, and Van Morrison are among the inductees into the Song Writers Hall of Fame.
