1965 – James Brown records “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag”. The song becomes a hit and sells more than 2 million copies and went on to receive the Grammy Award for best R&B recording.

That same year The Miracles released on of their popular hits “Tracks of My Tears”.

1967 – The Beatles score their 14th number one single with “All You Need Is Love”.

1968 – The Beatles animated film “Yellow Submarine” is released. The voices in the film were not provided by The Beatles but instead by actors.
