1962 – Elvis fans we are on a roll. Elvis topped the U.K charts with “Can’t Help Falling In Love” the flip side being “Rock-A-Hula Baby”.
1965 – The Beatles started filming the movie “Help!”
That same year The Beach Boys came out with “Help Me, Rhonda”.
1978 – Barry Manilow sang “It’s a Miracle” with Ray Charles on The Second Barry Manilow Special.
1982 – The album Double Fantasy by John Lennon was named Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards and Kim Carnes won Record of the Year for “Bette Davis Eyes”.
1992 – The U.S. Postal Service comes out with an Elvis stamp with a younger Elvis which was issued on January 8, 1993.
1999 – Madonna wins four Grammy Awards among them Best Pop Album “Ray Of Light”.
i still love Bette Davis Eyes.
Help was a great movie! Anything by Elvis works for me!
now, it is a guilty pleasure but I love Barry Manilow, in particular i love his song Copa, Copa Cabana!
There will be some mention of Manilow as time goes on Doc. Nothing wrong with his music and i never understood why some people shoved his aside.
I think mostly because he was closer to Liberachi than Sinatra.
