Growing up in Southern Indiana (south of US 40) there are two Universities that I never liked. The first is Purdue. The second is Notre Dame. We rooted for any team that played against those two universities most of my childhood. It’s funny because later in life I dated a woman that lived very near South Bend, which is where Notre Dame is. I’ve been to the campus many times (Bruno’s was a pizza joint near campus that I loved).
But I don’t like Notre Dame.
That said, watching the movie Rudy isn’t really about Notre Dame. It is a dream. Rudy’s dream is to be a football player. The journey he takes, to fulfill his dream is the basis for the movie, Rudy.
Overall this is a really good sports movie. It has elements of more than just sports in it. It is one of those movies that you can watch again and again. It is truly a feel good movie.
I give Rudy a 4 out of 5!

I not a Fighting Irish fan either since I do not care for media darlings on ESPN or the other networks. I am more into Louisiana State University.
The Tigers of LSU, awesome. Sadly my football team is one of the worst in the History of NCAA Men’s Football (Indiana University)

I forgot what was said next. I saw this movie maybe twenty years ago. Indeed it’s not just a sports movie, it’s an inspirational movie. I think I will watch it again.
