Movie Review: Iron Sky: The Coming Race, 2019

Full-length fantastic blockbuster with elements of the absurd comedy co-production of Finland, Germany, and Belgium, filmed by director and screenwriter  Timo Vuorensola. The film is a sequel to the suddenly successful 2012 film Iron Sky and continues the story of the Nazi space invasion.

The action takes place 20 years after the invasion of the lunar Nazis and the nuclear war on Earth, which has become unsuitable for life. The remnants of the surviving earthlings settled on the former lunar base, where a large colony with fascist dictatorship and religious movements was formed: among them even the so-called jobists, following the teachings of Steve Jobs. However, the base is gradually collapsing, since the moon also suffered serious damage during the war.

Ob – the daughter of Renate Richter and James Washington from the first film – finds out Ob goes to Earth on an expedition and enters the prehistoric world with dinosaurs ruled by a reptilian race: many world leaders who are alive and unharmed in the underworld belong to it.

The scenario is based on the ideas of the book by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, the theory of flat Earth and esoteric Nazism that are ironically presented. There are rumors that the director already started filming the third sequel’s part.

The leading roles were performed by Lara Rossi, Vladimir Burlakov, Kit Dale, Tom Green, and others. The film is remarkable, especially the game of actors.  Quality is just a high class. I want continuation with these actors.

This is a fantasy comedy with very beautiful special effects. Simple humor, simple jokes. Cinema for the good relax.
