Winter 71 Unicorn

The six of them travel south along Drescol Street toward Hessan estate. But on a whim, Morgus stops at Westmolmot Mill to see how Leza has set up the place.

Entering the tailor’s shop space to examine the agreed-upon shop area, he finds Leza has her equipment set up and arranged around the fireplace. The counter is also set up for use and display near the door. There are three manikin dummies arranged for work and display, set up near the loom along with her spindle.

But set by itself near to the fireplace, with a small maple side table beside it and an area throw carpet of woven flax on the floor in front, is the turquoise seal chair. On the side table is a mug of steaming tea and sitting in the chair dressed in a fine full ankle-length Imvor-orange wool dress is Leza sewing on a pair of new dull-red canvas leggings.

With a heartfelt smile, Morgus walks over to her, leaving his men-at-arms by the door.

He plants a tender kiss on her cheek. “Gods-grace my fair woman, how fare thee?”

The two spend a little more than two hours together in social conversation before Morgus leads his men-at-arms away to continue on the road toward Hessan estate.

Morgus is happy to have stopped in and see Leza, leaving her another 100.00 coins to cover her expenses for now.

…..

With all five men-at-arms lined up in Larap’s office, Morgus is introducing them leaving the senior first sergeant till last, “… and Baron this is First Sergeant Estella of our Hessan Guards.”

With a curt nod, the pampaloo smiles. “Well done. I do approve – you will all stay in bunk room two for now. Chamberlain Morgus is going to have our engineer build a Hessan Guard Hall for your quarters soon enough.”

With a wave of his hand, motioning the five out, Morgus stays with Larap.

He turns to the Baron. “My budget for that project?”

Looking into Morgus’ eyes, Larap replies, “open to your discretion – you did this right. But increase the privates to ten with appropriate officers.”
