“Meet In St. Louis” is a delightful musical starring Judy Garland. It didn’t start out to be a Christmas movie because it includes all the seasons of the year starting with summer, autumn, winter, and spring. There are many delightful musical numbers throughout the movie.
What made it become a Christmas movie is that in the winter as the Smith family thinks of moving away from St. Louis they attend one last Christmas dance with family and friends. Emotions are high for the family and Judy Garland as Esther Smith sings “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” to her little sister.
Since this song has found its place among classic Christmas songs so has this movie been listed as a Christmas movie.
