On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film got an approval rating of 42% based on 144 reviews, and an average rating of 5.1/10. The website’s critical consensus reads,

Maze Runner: The Death Cure may offer closure to fans of the franchise, but for anyone who hasn’t already been hooked, this bloated final installment is best left unseen.”

On Metacritic, the film got a weighted average score of 51/100, based on 37 critics, indicating “mixed or average reviews”. Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of “B+” on an A+ to F scale. IMDb, the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content, gave 6.4/10 for its average star rating.

It’s obvious that this last installment of Maze Runner got a very low rating, however you will really surprise how this story ends with a heart-breaking twist that will surely captivate your heart upon watching this one. Based on my own insight, this story has ended with another strong message among viewers that life is not fair at all times, sometimes you need to sacrifice to ensure the safety of the multitude despite it’s against all odds to assure the existence of that very special person you wish to have.

Teamwork, camaraderie, and perseverance for every trial also epitomizes the purpose of this film. It’s indeed true that every maze has an end, and so thus ends this trilogy movie that will surely blow your mind how some characters in the story made a huge sacrifice just to ensure others’ a perfect utopia they had long to wish for. I give my 8/10 for this film.
