Making of The Shining

Saturday, March 7, 2020

This video is interesting because it explains the details in the movie, The Shining by Stanley Kubrick, from hiring certain actors in this movie, using certain colors for symbolism, and performing certain scenes many times until the actors to it perfect. There were also many changes from the actual Stephen King novel. Kubrick placed lots of subliminal messages in his movies, which is similar to other movies which were based on novels. Hence, this is why it is important to read the book to watch the real fictional story, before you watch the Hollywood version, which is filled with symbolism and subliminal messages to further make the story even more eerie and strange.
