In 1971 Sir Rod Stewart came out with what today could be called one of the greatest rock songs of all time. It was ”Maggie May” and the song quickly got on the charts and rose to number one. It became a song that always seemed to haunt me because every September that the radio stations played the song it reminded me that summer was over and it was time for school again.
The song became an international hit and was included in Stewart’s album Every Picture Tells a Story. The song told the story of a young man who had a love affair with an older woman. It was ”Maggie May” and Stewart’s awesome album that helped launch his very successful solo career.
