Love Will Pull You Back

Here is a song that I wrote and recorded for the RPM Challenge. The “challenge” was to create/record 10 songs in 28 days. I hadn’t recorded anything truly new in quite a while, so the challenge forced me to sit down, write, and record some music. The song was inspired by two of the main characters in my novel, “Energy Dependence Day”.

Love Will Pull You Back by Christian F. Burton

When blood and oil mix, the oil still burns and the fire doesn’t care who it hurts. It burns through the sands and turns the dunes to glass. Only one thing can stop it, a hero’s final gasp

Never give up hope. Keep your faith intact. Reach out for the rope, and love will pull you back. Never give up hope. Keep your faith intact. Reach out for the rope, and love will pull you back.

A sword cannot tell the good from the bad. It cuts them both deeply neither happy nor sad. It tears at your heart. It claws at your soul. The sword stretches out only it knows its’ role.

Never give up hope. Keep your faith intact. Reach out for the rope, and love will pull you back. Never give up hope. Keep your faith intact. Reach out for the rope, and love will pull you back.

When death becomes life, you shed no tears. They’re all locked away with your darkest fears. There is no defeat or all would be lost. You soldier on numb no matter the cost.

Never give up hope. Keep your faith intact. Reach out for the rope, and love will pull you back.
