Love ItLove It

Long Ago I Received an Assignment

Most of the projects I did in school didn’t stick with me for long. I remember them and still they didn’t inspire me to do other things. The Lord of the Rings was different. They would compare the writings to scripture and we studied the author. We spent an entire year on it.  I knew it inside and out. I ‘ve read the books over and over.

I stumbled across the Music of “The Lord of the Rings” and I am really enjoying it.

The look and the feel are very much like the way I felt about the books. I don’t believe I ever sat down and really watched the movies. I tend to like the pictures in my imagination rather then the ones on the screen.

  1. I first read the English version of the LOTR in 1972 (one book with all three inside). When I came back to the US, the books were not released here yet. When they came I was so angry. I knew the books by heart and Penguin removed so much.

My dad went to Pakistan via the UK. I made him buy me the original English version (not three books, but one book) and bring it home for me.

I actually have to say Peter Jackson did an unbelievable job with the first three movies. We can argue he added a couple of things to the Hobbit, but overall he did an amazing job.

      • I went to a British school in 1972. I read all the science books in the library. THe librarian and I became friends. She said “try these books,” handing me the two (LOTR Fellowship, Two Towers, Return) one book, and the Redbook of Westmarch (Hobbit) was the second book.

They were old, leather-bound, first editions of the works.

        I couldn’t put them down!

  2. That people have different preferences.
I first read The Lord of the Rings book then watched all three parts of the movie.
Now, listen to the music you’ve been playing.
    Thank you.
