June 2018 Changes…

Wednesday, 6.6.18

I went to the Spectrum Center today, around 4 pm. It was filled with construction. They appear to be doing many changes throughout the mall. But it was quiet. There seemed to be less activity. I noticed that Casey’s Cupcakes is now Cinderella Cakes. Scents Avenue has returned, and it is now a small boutique with other items, such as jewelry, besides candles. Urban Home Store opened. I browsed inside to check out the furniture, which looks modern minimalism, earthy, and urban. Every time I visit a mall, I notice some new changes. I walked to the Improv building, got my ticket, and just waited. It felt very quiet and peaceful, almost meditative, as I just sat there, occasionally chatting with different people. By 7 pm, I entered the Improv building, and I ordered coffee and vegetarian nachos. It was good. The comedians were crazy. I recognized some audience members from past shows. The couple sitting in front of me were engaged at this Improv, I think last year. The old lady at my table had suffered a heart attack when night before the show started, and it was the same night that her favorite comedian had come to perform and meet her. She appears to be OK now. The woman next to me looked familiar because she is very social, always socializing with the comedians on stage. I ran into a blonde old lady who didn’t recognize me, but I eventually realized it was a Canadian woman I was sitting by during one show and we were chatting about different topics. I also recognized an old man in a wheelchair. He always comes to these Improv events. We chatted for a while. At 9:30 pm, I walked out, and walked toward my car in the now quiet mall. But there was open mike at the bar next to the Improv.

I added my recent photo that I took on Tuesday evening during the Turtle Rock community hike. We walked up a hill, and everyone took photos of the sunset. I like this photo because there is a group of people staring at the bright sun similar to sun worshippers, which almost looks like they are staring at a UFO or something.
