Jump In the Line

Singer Harry Belafonte recorded “Jump In the Line” in 1961. It is a Calypso type song and it is a lot of fun to listen and dance to. It is in quadruple time and was composed by Lord Kitchener. It became popular when it was used in the movie “Beetlejuice” in 1988. Calypso music came from Trinidad and Tobago.

Another very interesting version of the song is on YouTube with Old Hollywood actress Rita Hayworth. I think you’ll enjoy this version as well.

So now you just have to decide – Who wants to jump in the line?

What do you think?
