John Wick Chapter 2: My Movie Review

John Wick: Chapter 2 is a 2017 American action thriller neo-noir film.It is the second installment of the John Wick series. This film was directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad.

The story centers on the life of John Wick played by Keanu Reeves (Neo in Matrix trilogy), a hitman who has a bounty placed on his head. Also in the cast were rapper turned actor Common (Monster T of Suicide Squad) who played as Cassian (chief bodyguard of Gianna d’Antonio played by an Italian actress Claudia Gerini); Riccardo Scamarcio who played as Santino, a powerful Italian crime lord who marked Wick for assassination plot for her sister Claudia to claim his seat on High Table; Laurence Fishburne who played as the Bowery King, an  underground crime lord; John Leguizamo (voice actor of Sid in the Ice Age) as Aurelio, the owner of a high end chop shop who helps John Wick;  Australian actress Ruby Rose (Adele Wolff of xXx: Return of Xander Cage and  Abigail of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) who played as Ares, an assassin and a mute security enforcer of Santino; and Ian McShane  (Blackbeard of Pirates of the Caribbean and Brother Ray of Game of Thrones) as Winston, the owner and manager of the Continental Hotel in New York. This movie is the mark of the first collaboration between Reeves and Fishburne since they both appeared together in the Matrix trilogy.

This film runs in 122 minutes and has a production budget of $40 million to a grossing income of just $166.8 million. The film was premiered in Los Angeles, California on January 30, 2017. Theatrically released on February 10, 2017, this film received positive reviews from critics and grossed over four times its production budget and nearly twice the gross of the original film.

It’s one of the best sharpshooting films ever produced by Lionsgate. John Wick’s markmanship and adept wielding of guns has earned him a fame as one of the notorious protagonists in an action thriller films.

You should watch this movie. It’s just like watching the original one heightened to a whole level of intense stunts and action scenes.

I have here a trailer provided below. Watch it and see for yourself if my review agrees to you.
