Jeepers Creepers 3: My Movie Review

Jeepers Creepers 3 is a 2017 American horror film written and directed by a controversial director Victor Salva. This third installment took 14 years to continue the story on 2003 Jeepers Creepers 2. The film was released in theaters on September 26, 2017. And it was announced originally as a one-night only showing, yet it was then shown again on October 4, 2017.

The movie is about a Creeper’s truck filled with dead bodies discovered by police 23 years later after the events of the first film. The truck has been rigged with some booby-traps, that includes spikes and spears that shoot out from its tail-pipe.  The Creeper is an ancient, mysterious demon, that hunts human every 23 days of every 23rd spring. It seeks organs from humans replacing its own damaged and old organs. It scares its victims and uses scent of fear.

American actor Jonathan Breck (Leonard of Mask Maker/ Winston Lawson of Parkland/ Wilbur’s boss of Spy Kids 4) reprised his role as the demonic creature called the Creeper. Gina Philips (Sandy Hingle of Ally McBeal/ Marie of Chained) also returns in a cameo role as Trish Jenner, which is her first time returning to the franchise since the first film. Jordan Salloum (Cole of Sacrilege/ Wes of Battlecreek) played the role of Kenny Brandon, whose hand was severed to replace Creeper’s own hand 23 years before the Creeper encountered the Jenner siblings.

American veteran actor Stan Shaw (Glasspoole of Cutthroat Island/ Mr. Kane of Cassidy Way) played the role of Sheriff Dan Tashtego. Gabrielle Haugh (Laura of 13 Reasons Why/ Amelia of Headlock) played the role of Addison Brandon, a survivor who was kept as hostage by the Creeper inside his truck. Brandon Smith (Tuffy of The Last Mark/ Sheriff Todd of Spirit Camp) reprised his role from the original film as Sergeant Davis Tubbs.

Blue-eyed brunette American actress Meg Foster (Carla Grunwald of Pretty Little Liars/ Josephine LaRue of The Originals/Hera of Xena: Warrior Princess & Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) cast as Gaylen Brandon, the grandmother of Addison. Chester Rushing (Tommy H. of Stranger Things/ Prom Teen #3 of Logan) played the role of Buddy Hooks, the lover of Addison, and one of the main casts.

According to Joshua Millican from Horror Freak News, who gave the film a mostly positive review, had said  that Jeepers Creepers 3 is a hit, but fans who have waited more than a decade to see it might suffer from too-high expectations. Still, it’s a solid sequel and entertaining as hell. Hints at the Creeper’s origins are compelling, and everything looks fantastic. He added that it is a horror bubble gum that’s easy to consume and fun to partake in.

Jeepers Creepers has been one of my all-time favorite franchise horror movies along with Child’s Play and Wrong Turn. This third installment has lots of suspense and it will gotta make your heart pump out if you’re easily scared of the Creeper (but not for me lol). After more than a decade of waiting, Jeepers Creepers 3 has finally released as a success. If you’re watching this with kids, it’s highly recommended for parental guidance, since this film has violence and some gore graphics. Though this movie only earned $2.3 million from its release, I still claim this movie as one of the best horror movies of 2017 ever produced after more than a decade since its second installment. With a running time of 100 minutes, this movie will certainly make people scream for those who are namby pamby to watch the spooky nerve-racking Creeper.

This is one of the must-watch movies of November this year along with Stephen King’s It. Watch this now and dare not to close your eyes!

If you haven’t watched this horror film yet, here’s the official trailer:
