InUPress inspirational productivity motivation goal newsletter for June 2018.

Volume 01, Issue 001

Hey there readers! I have been out of town twice in one week to two different cities. One of these trips was for family to attend my grandson’s 5 K race as he competed with others on a sunny but windy day in a city which is two hours away from our home.

My fourteen-year-old grandson pushed himself to beat his best time on a course which has obstacles. His goal was to complete the course in under 25-minutes. He also desired to beat his old time of 27.93 minutes.

When the timer clicked as he hit the finish line he had completed the course in 26.19 minutes.

Was he disappointed? Were we? NO!

He beat his old time! He may not have reached his main goal, but he finished the course and did better than his previous best time, thus he had achieved part of his goal.

I take pride in my grandchildren having learned already so early in their lives to set goals and understand that the main point in setting goals is striving for those goals. The aim is to make the goals measurable and achievable. His goal to complete the track in 25-minutes over 5 K is achievable given sufficient training, he knows he hasn’t put in enough training. But he also knows he achieved his aim of completing the course.

My other family members inspire me also in their goals they set, with winning their awards and achieving measurable and achievable goals.

On another note, I have podcasters and authors approaching me now for interviews and advice.  For examples, I’ve talked with Marc Guberti from the Breakthrough Success podcast on Friday, though the forty-minute discussion may not end up in a podcast.

Also, over the last year, I’ve been consulting with the USA author Lyman Rate about his books which he has in three different series. Talking with him over Facebook Messenger supporting his progress. And also, I’ve recently been talking a new author from Enilda, Alberta has talked with me about her writing and I support her work on her MS. While as well, once a week over the last two years, I speak with the author, Dr. Eric J Kregel about writing and publishing of his and my work.

So, I find that so much is growing forward with these people. In listening to the guests of Marc’s podcast I’ve come to understand so much more about business successes. While working with Lyman and the other writers, I’ve gained so much insight into other peoples processes and lives, gaining the patience I had so lost with previous people who had burned me, stealing from me because of my nature to trust people.

Balance is returning to my work allowing me to rest my goals in good humour.

So, without further due here are InUPress’ six goals for the month of June:

  1. Finalize the MS layout and formatting for, ‘Dragoman Bloodgrue, Volume VI: Servile,’ for publishing.
  2. Re-submit and complete the application to gain approval for author Kenneth Shumaker with the Canada Council for the Arts.
  3. Submit and complete the application for approval for our imprint Inevitable Unicorn Press with the Canada Council for the Arts.
  4. Research and set up the current time, alternative-history, mystery world setting: ‘Adan,’ for the writing of ‘Calgary Drop.’
  5. Create the author: Kenneth Shumaker Media sheet.
  6. Create the imprint: InUPress Media sheet.

For the month of May, we achieved four of our six month’s goals, thus achieving a minor achievement.

Thank you, sincerely, Kenneth Shumaker.

May the words stay with you!
