I remember way back when I first heard this song with the words – in the year 2525 if man is still alive – and now here it is already 2020. Time moves on almost faster than a freight train.
The fantastic smash hit “In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)” was performed by Zager and Evans and hit number one on the pop charts on August 22, 1969. The song took its listener on a journey of a world which was foodless and spoke of environmental collapse and human cloning. Zager and Evans never gave an explanation as to what Exordium & Terminus meant but their song stayed on the charts for six weeks. Unfortunately for this duo, this song is their only claim to fame and by now has probably all but been forgotten.
