This is a rendition of the Johnny Cash hit song, Ring of Fire, performed by Home Free. Home Free is joined here by another wonderful bass singer, Avi Kaplan, formerly of the a capella group Pentatonix. Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan are nearly equal in bass ability and both can hit really deep bass notes while remaining on key. It isn’t easy to say which is a deeper bass singer, but Tim barely beats out Avi. However, Tim can also sing higher notes than Avi can.
Again, keep in mind that there are no musical instruments. This is entirely a capella…something I’ve not dared to do yet.
I like the music and the style. Vocals always make me relax. They blend their voices well!!!!!

I feel the same way. These guys make it seem so easy, but I know that it is anything but easy to get that proper balance and blend. In this one, Tim really gets to show off his vocal range, from quite high to very low.
They seem to have a wonderful mix of voices also!
Yes. A lot of their personality comes out in those voices. I have no doubt that part of the reason they are so good is because of their interaction as a group.
yes Simon and Garfunkel sounded better when they were friends, than later when they weren’t (and now, again that they are friends).

I love Pentatonix. I have their Christmas specials all saved on my DVR.
I love them, too. They are quite talented. Home Free has a style that is different and they have more of a country sound, but they are also favorites of mine.
Pentatonix has always amazed me at how the perform.
Home Free is the same sort of group. I still wonder how Pentatonix is going to do now that Avi Kaplan has left the group. Kirstin Maldonado is also singing elsewhere, though she is still a member of Pentatonix.
I didn’t realize that Avi had left the group. That’s two members now, right?
I believe so. Avi was having a major burnout because of the fast pace and the fact that he wasn’t able to spend any time with his family.
