“Mana’o”, which is episode eight of season one of Hawaii Five-0, opens at a Hawaiian luau, when it comes time to unveil the roast pig, what is actually found in the cooking pit is the body of a police officer with his badge stuck in his mouth, turning roast pig into long pig.
The dead man was Danny’s former partner, and his wife asks Danny to find out what was going on. Internal Affairs is investigating him on charges of corruption. Danny is convinced he isn’t guilty, even despite all the evidence, and has problems convincing McGarrett to believe him.
This episode’s name means “Belief” in Hawaiian.
