George Michael

This very talented artist George Michael is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He rose to popularity in the 80s and 90s with a variety of music. Altogether he has sold over 100 million records all over the globe. His first album Faith in 1987 sold over 20 million copies. He has had seven number one singles in the U.K. and eight number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. He was ranked the 40th most successful artist on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Artists list.

Throughout his career George Michael had won 3 Brit Awards, 4 MTV Video Music Awards, 4 Ivor Novello Awards, 3 American Music Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards.

He gained popularity when he released his first solo album Faith. It included the single “I Want Your Sex”. The second single from this album was “Faith” which rose to number one on the charts. Other songs from this album which reached the charts were “Father Figure”, “One More Try”, and “Monkey”.

In 1988 George Michael went on a world tour and in 1990 he released the album Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1. The first single was “Praying for Time”. It became an instant success followed by “Waiting for That Day”, “Freedom 90”, “Heal the Pain” and “Cowboys and Angels”.

George Michael went on the “Cover to Cover” tour in 1991. It included England, the U.S., Japan, and Brazil. Two other popular singles were “Jesus to a Child” and “Fastlove”.  Among his top ten songs are “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go”, “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me”, “Everything She Wants”, and “Last Christmas”.

He continued to sing and perform to the delight of his many fans. His album was Symphonica released in March 2014. The singles from this album were “Let Her Down Easy”, “Going to a Town”, and “Feeling Good”.

On Christmas Day 2016 this talented singer was found dead in his home in Goring-On-Thames he was only 53.
