Florida Project, 2017, movie analysis and review

Thursday, December 07, 2017

I tried to get work done in the house all morning, and then I went to the 3:45 pm showing of the indie film, Florida Project. It is a 2017 film, directed by Sean Baker, written by Baker and Chris Bergoch, and starring Willem Dafoe, Brooklynn Prince, Valeria Cotto, Christopher Rivera, Bria Vinaite, and other actors.

I added a movie trailer for the movie, as well as three videos where the cast and director are interviewed about their experience working on this movie.

#5 The Florida Project Official Trailer (2017) HD

The movie is what I had expected it to be like. It was about low income families and homeless people, living at an Orlando, Florida Project, right behind Disneyworld. The movie mostly focuses on the kids, who have the streets as their playground, while living in a motel and trying to entertain themselves with their surroundings. The families survive each day in whatever job they can get, and the kids’ curiosity often gets them into trouble.

The ending of the movie is open-ended and sad, but that is often the reality for such homeless people. And, in most case, the situation is often worse in real life.
