Today’s entertainment market is flooded with realistic action and special effects but long before the heart stopping special effects debuted, stories captured our imagination. Edgar Allen Poe made a splash with his short story in 1845.
I’ve been fan since I first discovered his short stories and poetry. The eerie suspense he depicted left me fascinated and something about his style begs to be read aloud.
I selected a volume of his tales and read them to my three children while waiting in the car for their father to get off of work.
Long before video games and iPods, Poe captivated audiences with his macabre stories. Perhaps reading them to my children was unorthodox, but watch this video of Christopher Walken reading The Raven and you may just pick up a volume and be tempted to read aloud, too.
I like the stories of Edgar Allen Poe and the work of actor Christopher Walken as well.
Same here EAP, wonderful … and with Christopher Walken reading, wow, tres cool.
Thanks for stopping!
