Wayman Tisdale was one of the most prolific college basketball players in NCAA history. Tisdale played at the University of Oklahoma for three years from 1982 to 1985 and averaged 25.6 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game. Then, he played in the NBA until 1997.
After his basketball career ended, he switched over to jazz as a bass guitarist. Bass players do not receive as much acclaim in jazz circles in comparison to the saxophone, but he had a successful career that lasted until he passed away in 2009.
Here is one of my favorite songs from his extensive playlist. It’s called “Breakfast with Tiffany.”
A cool song, thank you for this one!
i look forward to your Saturday jazz throwdown. Well done!
