Black Panther has received praise for its performances, screenplay, direction, action, costume design, production merits, and soundtrack, though the CGI effects has received some few criticism. Critics noted this film for its cultural significance and considered it one of the best films set in the MCU.

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 96% out of 369 reviews, with an average rating of 8.2/10. The website’s critical consensus reads,

 “Black Panther elevates superhero cinema to thrilling new heights while telling one of the MCU’s most absorbing stories—and introducing some of its most fully realized characters.”

It is also the best-viewed live-action superhero film on the site as of February 18, 2018, beating The Dark Knight and Iron Man (both 94%). Metacritic, on the other hand, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 88/100, based on 55 critics, indicating “universal acclaim”. CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of “A+” on an A+ to F scale based on audiences’ poll, making it the second superhero film to receive that grade after Marvel’s own The Avengers. IMDb,  the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content, gave 7.6/10 average star ranking based from 267, 764 reviews.

Filmgoers polled by Screen Engine/comScore’s PostTrak service also gave the film an overall positive score of 92% and an 88% “definite recommend”, with a third of people plans to see the film again. Surprisingly to know, RelishMix reported that Twitter hashtags for #BlackPanther, tagging of the film’s Twitter account from audiences leave the theater set an all-time film record in its opening weekend, with 559,000 unique posts in a day. That was twice the amount The Last Jedi received in December 2017, with just 232,000, while 100,00 posts for a film is average.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Todd McCarthy wrote,

“The actors are all seen to very good advantage. Boseman certainly holds his own, but there are quite a few charismatic supporting players here keen to steal every scene they can – and they do, notably the physically imposing Jordan, the radiant Nyong’o and especially Wright, who gives her every scene extra punch and humor.”

Variety’s Peter Debruge said,

 “Black Panther celebrates its hero’s heritage while delivering one of Marvel’s most all-around appealing standalone installments to date.”

The New York Times’ Manohla Dargis called Black Panther a jolt of a movie and said,

 “in its emphasis on black imagination, creation and liberation, the movie becomes an emblem of a past that was denied and a future that feels very present. And in doing so opens up its world, and yours, beautifully.”

Los Angeles Times’ Kenneth Turan said,

 “With dialogue that deftly explores serious questions, such as how much if anything do wealthy countries owe the poor and oppressed of the world, Black Panther draws energy from Coogler’s sense of excitement at all he’s attempting. The result is a superhero movie that’s worth seeing twice, and that is a rare sighting indeed.”

And one of the best compliments and praise I’ve read is from a guy named Richard Roeper of Chicago Sun-Times who called the film as one of the best superhero movies of the century and sincerely stated,

 “If you appreciate finely honed storytelling with a Shakespearean core; winning performances from an enormously talented ensemble; provocative premises touching on isolationism, revolution and cultures of oppression, and oh yeah, tons of whiz-bang action sequences and good humor – then you should see Black Panther.”

In my own personal review, Black Panther is indeed one of the best superhero films ever released by Marvel Studios, it also helps to promote Africa, their rich culture, the tribal people and the vast expanse of its natural wonders brimmed with wild flora and fauna. A must-see movie that will surely crave your eyes to see the story hidden behind the people of Wakanda. This movie has also nice costume designs where tribes are being introduced, how people from Africa preserves their lineage of clans and ancestry. Black Panther is not just a movie that you gotta watch over and over again, but there’s more to it that it simply brings one strong message — hidden wealth, power, or talent should not just be concealed for eternity, it should be shared from those who badly needs it; use it to heal and save the struggling, the oppressed, and the dying. I think you don’t understand what I mean. But, if you’re going to watch this film, you will really understand what my words significantly mean.

Visual effects and stunts are higher than average, no extreme gore that will definitely affect kiddos to watch, only some very minute parental guidance, as this movie has passed from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s screening as their first film to show on a cinema after its 35-year cinema ban as I aforementioned. Truly extraordinary film ever produced, with promising award-winning actors doubled with ornate costumes and introduction to cultural heritage of Africa. I give my best shot for this film, which is the highest among my film reviews — a whopping 9.5/10!
