Aretha Franklin Died on August 16th at 76

Thursday, August 16, 2018

I woke up early in the morning to get ready for my day. As I ate my breakfast, I thought about my day’s agenda. I want to go to a yoga class, and then I have a photography meetup. I decided to turn on the computer to check on things before I go to the gym. As soon as I was on the internet browser, I was bombarded with the latest news about Aretha Franklin’s death. Sad because this is one of the legendary singers who actually had talent, such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson.

Aretha Franklin, died early morning August 16th, at 76. This Queen of Soul died at 9:50 am today in her Detroit, Michigan house. She was suffering from “advance pancreatic cancer of neuroendocrine type.” She had over 20 number 1 hit songs. Aretha had canceled two of her concerts this spring, probably due to health concerns, although had also announced in February 2017 that she was planning on retiring.

She was born on March 25, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee, and she died on August 16, 2018 in Detroit, Michigan. She has four sons, and she had been married twice, to Ted White Sr and Glynn Turman. She was also engaged to Willie Wilkerson. She has 18 Grammy Awards.
