Angels & Demons movie review

Monday, October 09, 2017

Early Monday morning, around 1 am, I decided to watch the movie Angels & Demons. It stars Tom Hanks and Euan McGregor as well as directed by Ron Howard. It is produced by John Calley, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard as well as the screenplay was written by Akiva Goldsman and David Koepp. It is based on Dan Brown’s novel, which is also called Angels & Demons. It is basically about the Illuminati trying to control the world as they destroy anyone against their anti-Christ agenda. It is a war between atheist scientists versus religious Cardinals. And, many cardinals have been found branded by the Illuminati and killed. Robert Langdon is asked to find the antimatter before the Illuminati kill off the Cardinals. The antimatter substance is said to be very powerful, similar to a nuclear bomb. Langdon is an expert on symbolism, and he is able to decode primitive symbols in order to find the antimatter before it is too late.

The movie is filled with action, involving lots of chases, on foot and by car. The acting sucks because I was bored watching this film as well as it was hard to follow.  I do have the novels, Angels & Demons and The Davinci Code, in which I bought from a used book sale, and I plan to read them because they are probably more interesting. I thought the movie was gay and lame. At least, now, I got an idea about the story, which sounds interesting but the movie sucked.

A couple of years ago, I remember my cousin told me that she read the books, and she enjoyed them, but she told me both movies sucked.

  1. I read the Da Vinci Code and thought it was just awful. You’d be better off with something like Neville’s the Eight or Foucault’s Pendulum by Eco… Or if you’re really in the mood for Illuminati, pick up something by Robert Anton Wilson
