A Day of Movie and Art

Saturday, 5.18.19

Today, at noon, I decided to go to the cinema to watch the movie, Tolkien. The movie was about Tolkien’s young years, how he met his three best friends as well as courting his girlfriend who he later married. It also takes place during the hardships of World War I. I enjoyed watching the story about Tolkien’s fellowship and romance during his younger years. He appeared to be a loner, creating languages and stories as well as drawing artwork. I wasn’t familiar with any of the actors, but the movie starred Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins, who played Tolkien and his girlfriend.

When I read the Hobbit and Fellowship, I noticed the beginnings of his novels seemed similar to the old testament of the bible. It is noted that Tolkien died in 1973, two of his friends died in war, and Christopher died in 1987. I think Tolkien had four kids with his wife Edith.

At 4 pm, I went to an art gallery reception. The art gallery was more crowded than usual. I ran into a man who said that he met Nicholas Hoult at 14, at the Palm Springs Film Festival. I did a video of the art gallery reception as well as promoted my graphic novel.

At 7 pm, I decided to come home.
