11 year old Adviak Nandikotkur was at the right place at the right time on Sunday evening at an apartment complex in Eagan Minnesota when a 34 year old male was swimming in the shallow section of the swimming pool when he decided to venture into the deeper end of the swimming pool when he went underneath the water but he failed to get to the surface of the swimming pool.
Adviak who was in the presence of his mother at the swimming pool on the surface then obeyed the orders of his mother to jump into the swimming pool and attempt to get the male swimmer who at this time was unconscious.
Even though Adviak is at least 100 pounds lighter than the unconscious male swimmer which would require the strength of Hercules to take the hand of the unconscious swimmer to the surface of the pool safely which Adviak was able to accomplish.
When Adviak was able to get the unconscious swimmer to the edge of the pool, several adults assisted Adviak to get the man out of the edge of the swimming pool to the surface safe and sound.
An ambulance came to the apartment complex to take the unconscious swimmer who at this time was awake but in a groggy state of mind to a local hospital where he was treated for his experience in the deep end of the pool where if it was not for the brave actions of Adviak, he would have been declared dead.
Adviak and his family who are natives of India credit his relatives to have him enroll in taking swimming lessons in his earlier years.
Eagan Police Officer Aaron Machtemes is impressed with Adviak’s response to being called a hero by acting like his actions were just another day at the office, instead of the song “Hey Look Me Over.” like a lot of persons who are in the sports entertainment world like to do.
